Pool Closed for Beryl

The pool has been closed in preparations for Beryl. We are planning on being closed through Tuesday and will assess what needs to be done to reopen Wednesday if possible.

Vantaca News

Vantaca News

As a reminder on April 1, 2024, we’ll be transitioning from Townsquare to Vantaca for our community management platform. This transition promises smoother operations and enhanced accessibility to the resources you need, right at your fingertips!

On April 1, you’ll receive an email from Vantaca with simple instructions on how to access the new portal. We understand that change can sometimes bring uncertainty, but rest assured, we’re here to support you through the process.

Starting from the first week of April, we’ll be initiating the transfer of account balances to Vantaca. This will encompass any outstanding charges as well as any prepayments made towards future assessments or charges on your account. While this transition takes place, you may not see your complete balance reflected under the Payments screen. However, please understand that this is only temporary as we finalize our accounting and financial transition throughout the initial weeks of April.

You will still have the option to make payments to your account during this period of account balance transfer. Rest assured; we will keep the community informed once all account balance transfers have been successfully completed.

In the meantime, why not take a sneak peek at some helpful videos to get acquainted with the new portal? Check them out below:

As we transition, we’ll have more information available to help residents navigate the new system and answer any questions that arise. Your comfort and convenience are our top priorities!

Thank you for being part of our wonderful community and get ready to embark on this exciting journey with us!

Open Board Position – Area Director 2

Open Board Position – Area Director 2

Our Area Director for Area 2 has scheduling conflicts and will not be able to continue her work as an Area Director. Per our bylaws, a person may be nominated to fill the open position until the completion of the term.  If you are interested in getting involved I would love to hear from you.  We have several new members on the board and we will have a training session as soon as this position is filled.

Please complete the form below if you are interested.  You must live in Area 2 to serve as the Area 2 Director.

If you have questions about the position please read the bylaws posted on the site.  https://mnwhoa.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/MNW-By-Laws-Re-Stated-12-02-12.pdf

2024 Assessments

2024 Assessments

At the November 2023 board meeting the 2024 assessment rate was set.  The assessment rate has increased by 3.5%.  Bringing the assessment to $787 for 2024.

Bills for the assessment should be ready to go in the mail and I expect you will start seeing them in the next week.  Assessments are due January 1, 2024, and will be considered late if RECEIVED after January 31, 2024. Late fees will be charged on February 1st for any account where the assessment has not been received in full.

If you are unable to make your assessment payments timely consider getting on a payment plan for the assessments before the late fees, certified letter late notices, and legal referral happen.  The best time to address getting on a payment plan is before you are late.  The payment plan policy can be found here. https://mnwhoa.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/MNW-Payment-Plan-Policy-3-22-12.pdf

Membership Meeting Update – Nominations

I have a quick update on the Membership Meeting from last week.  This is one of three Membership Meetings we hold per year.  This meeting is specific for nominations for expiring positions.  In this election cycle the President, 1st Vice President, 3rd Vice President and Area Directors 2, 4, and 6 have expiring terms.

The nomination committee, chaired by Virginia Smith, contacted all incumbent position holders and reached into the community to find individuals interested in serving. There was not a great deal of interest.  However, we will be going into 2024 with a full board.

There are no contested positions.  This means there will be no ballot sent to members.

  • President – Jay Jackson
  • 1st Vice President – Brandon Robbins
  • 2nd Vice President – Gregg Williams
  • Area Director 2 – Candice Cowin
  • Area Director 4 – Craig Carter
  • Area Director 6 – Erik Bartlow

In other Membership Meeting news, it was great to see a nearly full room of people attend. We had an interesting Q&A that revolved around the planned townhomes being built next to the Community Center.

We also presented an award to Greg Schindler honoring his service to the community. Unfortunately, Greg was not present as he sold his house quicker than we anticipated.  If you are not aware Greg has sold his home in MNW where he raised his family and moved to Slidell.  His vision and depth of knowledge will be missed.

Please note, we are in transition to the new management company. This is going fairly well with a few hiccups but that is to be expected. If you have not signed up for their portal, please do so. You will find instructions in the letter received at your mailing address or from the copy of the letter posted on the web site.
