On March 16, the Ladybugs took their pilgrimage trip to beautiful Bayou Bend where they toured the Ima Hogg mansion and grounds.  It was a lovely day and the azaleas were in full bloom.  After the tour, the Ladybugs had a delicious lunch at Baba Yega.

The Ladybugs had their Plant and Tree Sale on Saturday, April 2 at the MNW Community Center.  The sale was a huge success!  This annual event helps raise funds for many wonderful and beneficial projects. We want to thank Second Vice-President, Eleanor Phillips, for all her diligent, hard work and effort into making this event so very successful.  Eleanor worked very hard and it certainly paid off!

The Ladybugs also want to thank Ann Kidney of the Community Center for her assistance and for placement of notices around the center.  You have been so helpful to us over the years.  Thank you to Plants for All Seasons for all your help to make the plant sale successful!  Most of all, thank you all for coming to our plant and tree sale and for purchasing both plants and the plant vouchers to Plants for All Seasons.  It is through you that our sales are most successful and we want to thank you for all your support throughout the years!!

The Ladybugs celebrated Arbor Day on April 1 at Theiss Elementary in their Outdoor Learning Center.  A tree was dedicated to Coach Wheeler for his years of service at Theiss Elementary.  The Ladybugs dedicated a tree to Ladybugs Charter Member, Donna Rose, who was President of the Ladybugs when the Outdoor Classroom was dedicated 35 years ago.

The Garden Club will meet next on May 4 for the Joint Board Meeting.  On May 25 the Ladybugs with join together for the Installation of Officers for the 2016-2017 term.

The Ladybugs always welcome guests and new members.  For information about joining us for our April meeting, please call Membership Chairman, Kathy Dodge, at 281-386-8410 or email kwdodge@yahoo.com.

Until next month,

The Ladybugs
